What major contrast between Hitler and Napoleon is made in the passage?

The reading paints a vivid contrast between how Hitler and Napoleon are regarded today. Both succeeded in conquering most of Europe , yet neither succeeded in conquering Britain (One was able to defeat the British navy; the other was not). It is true that Hitler was a dictator and Napoleon an emperor (One was a dictator; the other, an emperor), but there is little difference between these titles so this is actually as much a similarity as a contrast. Some believe Napoleon had stomach cancer, but others think he was poisoned or took his own life. Regardless, this isn’t a major contrast made in the reading.
