The reason that Texas has a large population but a low population density is simply that Texas is a large state in land area. Where people came from (Many people in Texas have moved there from other states) have nothing to do with population density. Answers (Texas’s cities are spread out without a high population density) and (Population density is lower in farming states than in urbanized states) are true statements in general but do not completely explain why Texas is one of the most populous states yet has a relatively low population density.
